About Virtus Education
Curriculum Built by Homeschoolers for Homeschoolers
Since 2016, Virtus has focused on one thing - creating practical, usable curriculum for South African home education.
Why Virtus Exists
Virtus started because the homeschooling resources available in South Africa weren't cutting it. Parents were stitching together materials from multiple sources, spending hours prepping lessons, and still worrying whether they were covering everything required by CAPS.
We saw families burning out. Capable parents giving up on homeschooling because the admin load was crushing.
So we built what was missing - complete, term-by-term learning materials that handle the heavy lifting. We mapped every CAPS requirement, structured it into manageable daily lessons, created proper assessments with rubrics, and packaged it in a format that any parent can pick up and use.
We don't claim to revolutionize education. We just make homeschooling more manageable by doing the curriculum development work so you don't have to. Our materials are detailed enough to give you confidence, but flexible enough to adapt to different teaching styles and family situations.
How We Approach Curriculum
Virtus curriculum prioritizes clarity, completeness, and compliance. Every lesson is mapped to CAPS requirements. Every assessment includes marking guides. Every term has a scope and sequence document showing exactly what should be covered. We focus on giving educators the structure they need while leaving room for the human element that makes home education special.
What Makes Virtus Different
We specialize in Grades R through 9, which means our materials are developed specifically for these age groups. We design for real homeschool contexts - small groups, mixed ages, limited resources. And we focus exclusively on curriculum development.
